Buenos Aires - San Nicolás: Museo Beatle
Museo Beatle, located in Paseo La Plaza, was opened on January 3, 2011 by Rodolfo Vázquez, owner of The Cavern Club. The small museum, one of the few dedicated to the Beatles outside of Liverpool, contains Vázquez' private collection, for which he secured a Guinness World Record for the "largest collection of Beatles memorabilia" in 2001 with 5,612 items. By the time he opened the gallery, it had grown to 8,500 items--2,000 of which are on rotating display at any time. Paseo La Plaza was inaugurated on the site of Mercado Modelo on the 1600 block of Avenida de Corrientes in 1989. The lushly landscaped urban oasis hosts two theatres, shops and restaurants.
