    Departures and Arrivals, a glass mosaic installation based on paintings by Ben Snead, was installed at the Jay Street – Metrotech subway station in 2009. The mural depicts five species that have migrated to Brooklyn, plus one that is departing. Seen from left to right are the: Tiger Beetle (local), European Starling (England), House Sparrow (Europe), Red Lion Fish (Indian Ocean), Monk Parrot (South America), and Koi (Japan).

    Jay Street – Metrotech, located at Willoughby Street between Jay and Lawrence Street, is an underground station complex on the IND Fulton Street, IND Culver, and BMT Fourth Avenue Lines of the New York City Subway. The IND station, served by the A, C and F lines, opened on February 1, 1933 as Jay Street – Borough Hall. The BMT station, served by the N and R lines, opened on March 11, 1920 as Lawrence Street – MetroTech.
