NYC - Gramcery: 28th Street Station - City Dwellers (for Costas and Maro)

City Dwellers (for Costas and Maro) was designed by Mark Hadjipateras in 2002 for the platform walls of 28th Street station. Hadjipateras' cartoon-style glass mosaics of robot-like creatures are influenced by the neighborhoods surroundings--The Toy Center and Flatiron Building, as well as the flower, fur and garment districts.

Opened on January 5, 1918, the 28th Street station, on the BMT Broadway line, services the N and R. A renovation in 2001 restored the original name tablet mosaics and tile band.
