Queens - Woodside: Woodside on the Move Mural - 9-11 Vigil

Gregory Sessoms's mural on the concrete wall under the 61st Street Subway Station on Roosevelt Avenue in Queens stands as a vigil for the September 11th attacks: a larger-than-life burning candle between the two towers and a crying eagle. The mural was commissioned by Woodside on the Move, a group orginally founded to organize the community's celebration of the Bicentennial in 1976.
