NYC - Greenwich Village: D'Agostino Hall

D'Agostino Hall, named after Filomen D'Agostino, one of the first woman lawyers (NYU Law '20), houses hundreds of NYU Law School students and a small number of faculty. The lobby is a double-split-level, with "The Pit", a residents' lounge, at the lowest level. One floor beneath The Pit is the sub-basement, home to most of NYU's legal journals.

The Hall was built on the site of Café Bizarre, formerly at No. 106, where Andy Warhol first saw the Velvet Underground. It was supposedly haunted by Aaron Burr's ghost. Also on this site (at 102) was Café Caravan, 1950s poetry coffeehouse where Wavy Gravy read regularly.
