NYC - West Village: 175-179 West 4th Street

These three Federal row houses, whose parlor floors and basements house shops, date back to 1833-1834. 177 and 179 still retain their exquisite dormer windows. 179 West 4th's basement is home to the Down the Hatch. A local NYU dive bar with a frat boy vibe, Down the Hatch was best known for its atomic buffalo wings until they sued HBO and Sex and the City for a scene where a bartender sold Samantha a joint. As a result, the scene found its way to the cutting room floor.
