looking down on the Angels Bathing Pool

An overnight trip in the Mission Range. This lake is best reached by hiking the trail to Gray Wolf Lake, and then traversing the ridge to the north. There is one steep section of down climbing that would rate as maybe a class III scramble. We did it with backpacks on and it was just slow going. Lots of loose rocks to kick down at your partner though! Nothing like having a rock whiz past your head - Wendy and I have matured immensely in hiking and scrambling skill since then.

The second day we didn't get back to our car until 11pm. That was a really long day - nothing like backpacking for 2 hours after dark in grizzly country!
