I probably should have changed the scale for this one.

No need to change the scale. You did a great job. You nailed the L.A. metro area.

Oh good, I'm glad you think the area makes sense. Thanks!

Cool. Where did you get the underlying geography?

  4. Eric Fischer 97 months ago | reply

Thanks! The base map that the picture locations are plotted over is from OpenStreetMap.

Very cool. Is there one for Eastern Los Angeles as well?

  6. Eric Fischer 97 months ago | reply

There isn't an Eastern Los Angeles one yet -- I need to replot it because the area overlapped with this one.

Instead of making a second one, it would be really interesting to see a single, double wide version that stretched from Santa Monica to Pasadena since downtown LA doesn't really fit if you include Santa Monica in the west.

I wonder if there's enough data for 2x 6137 pixels or whether you would run into a lot of empty space.

I'd kinda like to see this map but extended south and east. I mean, after all, Anaheim's gonna draw in an awful lot of tourist shots, and presumably some spots in Long Beach as well.

Awesome map. I hope you don't mind my notes. =)
