Christ - Triumphant, Even in Death, 2012

The butterfly is used in such churches - such as ours - at Easter, as a symbol of the Resurrection of Christ, owing to the pattern of the caterpillar being transformed into a chrysalis, and then re-emerging as a butterfly, as, according to the Scriptures, Christ re-emerged from his tomb, a resurrected figure, and subsequently ascended into heaven.
