Thomas Doubts 3

Thomas found it very difficult to believe what his friends were saying. Jesus Christ raised from the dead? He was so crushed and disappointed, and even devastated by the crucifixion of Jesus Christ that he swore he would never believe it unless he touched the wounds and could see it for himself.

When all the disciples were gathered, Jesus did appear and he spoke to Thomas. "Come, but your hand in the wound on my side. Touch my hands." Thomas immediately acknowledge the Lord in repentance.

This situation was a setup, possibly: if Thomas hadn't made a fuss about it, Jesus would have looked for someone else who did because He wanted to leave this blessing for all of us who would come later. Jesus told Thomas, "Because you have seen, now you believe. Blessed are those who haven't seen and yet they believe."

We can be grateful for Thomas, who wanted proof. Because of his doubts, we have a blessing.
