Toast'em Animals - 1960s

    Newer Older

Here's a wonderful vintage coupon introducing Toast'em Animals, which was a toaster pastry treat from General Foods to compete with Pop-Tarts.

This is a fold-over style, double-sided coupon. These kinds of coupons generally came in coupon mailer envelopes, were in-box coupons or were in-store hand-outs.

Here we see the original three flavors -- Chocolate Elephant, Berry Bear and Sugar Spice Lion and a premium blimps offer.

I'm not exactly sure when Toast'em Animals were introduced, but I believe it was between 1966-1967. Sugar Spice Lion would later be renamed to Cinnamon Lion.

Where's Jungle Fred when we need him?
