Model Senate Foreign Relations Committee 2009

by World Affairs Council of Philadelphia

On Thursday, December 10, the Council hosted it's annual Model Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing at Temple University’s Fox School of Business.

A key component of this year’s Model Senate simulation is the use of Forward Engagement, a method of policy analysis that emphasizes the importance of considering the longer-range future in policy making. Forward Engagement is a concept developed by Leon Fuerth, former National Security Advisor to Vice President Al Gore and Research Professor of International Affairs at the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.

The Council extends a warm thanks to Leon Fuerth, the Project on Forward Engagement, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and Fox School of Business' CIBER program for their contribution to and support of the Council’s Model Senate program.
