NATO Ambassador Kurt Volker at the World Affairs Council - December 10, 2008

On December 10, 2008, the World Affairs Council was delighted to once again have the opportunity to host Ambassador Kurt Volker - this time to speak about his new role as U.S. permanent representative to NATO. Ambassador Volker is one of our favorite speakers – eloquent, engaging and generous, and also a native Philadelphian.

Speaking before about 150 guests, Ambassador Volker discussed the mounting tensions in the NATO alliance over the deployment of troops in Afghanistan and the challenges and opportunities facing NATO as it approaches its sixtieth anniversary this year.
