H.E. Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, foreign minister of Pakistan - July 11, 2008

On Friday, July 11, 2008, the Council's most supportive members enjoyed an exclusive dinner and reception with H.E. Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, foreign minister of Pakistan, at the home of Drs. Raza and Sabina Bokhari. Dr. Raza Bokhari is a director of the World Affairs Council and chairman and CEO of Parkway Clinical Laboratories.

Conversation focused on efforts to forge a strategic partnership between the U.S. and Pakistan on issues such as economic cooperation and counter-terrorism. Minister Qureshi's thoughtful remarks offered our members a unique opportunity to hear firsthand about Pakistan's efforts to balance national security and economic reforms with the political realities on the ground.
