I went to Wolfies once. It was good. Very much like Ronnies in Orlando. I always imagined they were related in some way.

That's a matchbook cover from Wolfies North Miami Beach, circa mid 60s. The "163" is because it was on NE 163rd St.

Scott, if you're reading this ...

You're right, Wolfies 21 (2038 Collins Ave., Corner 21st St., Miami Beach) and Ronnies were related.

When Wolfie Cohen sold Wolfies 21 to my family we didn't get permission to continue to use the name Wolfies; he kept that for himself.

Ronnies in Orlando and the Forum (later the Forum of the Holiday Inn) in Ft. Lauderdale were also ours. Wolfies St. Petersburg, Wolfies Lincoln Road (Miami Beach), and Wolfies Gainesville (I don't think it lasted more than a year or two) were Wolfie Cohen's.

Thanks for the restaurant history. It's amazing how often Ronnies comes up in conversations I have. For the me the place that now comes closest to it is Nate'n Al in Beverly Hills.
