Mayor Adrian Fenty at Bike to Work Day 2010
District of Columbia Mayor Adrian M Fenty
Bike to Work Day May 20, 2010 had more than 8,500 registrants.
Thousands of area commuters came together for a celebration of bicycling as a clean, fun and healthy way to get to work! There were 35 regional pit stops, where neighbors met to ride together into the city with experienced commuter convoys and later me fellow cyclists at Freedom Plaza. Washington Area Bicyclist Association and Commuter Connections suggest that commuters try bicycling to work as an alternative to solo driving. Help the Washington region become a better place to ride. Bike to Work Day is a FREE event and open to all area commuters. The event always features a raffle, prizes, food, drink and more at all pit stops throughout the region.
