• The graffiti is paper pasted (wheat paste) on to the bricks and you can still see the strokes of a brush in the glue.

Obama graffiti

Newer Older

I saw this on U Street NW, Washington, DC between 16th & 15th Streets. It strikes me as Obama done in the style of a "Get Your War On" cartoon.

Update 1: This same piece of graffiti seen in Denver. Now I want to know the story behind this.

Update 2: The artist is Scot Lefavor from Denver. A similar Obama piece and other work can be purchased at his online store. Scot is also responsible for these neat "ads".

dullshick, Jeff Harris of Baltimore, and 65 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Thanks! I just happened to see it back around inauguration in the USA when DC was going through Obama-mania. It was kind of a crazy time in Washington, DC.

All this debate whether wheatpasting is "real graffiti" or "real art" (whatever those might mean), and no comments on why he looks white? Seriously, that's the first thing I noticed.
