Recently, the City Of San Francisco opened Pier 14, a new public access wharf. The bay limits the photographic angles in the immediate downtown waterfront area, so the pier opens up some new possibilities. This shot, and the one of Coit tower a few down in my stream, were taken there around sunset.
Temporarily, the pier is open until 8pm, at which point the gate is locked, so no night shots from there for now, at least! The gaurd that cleared the place out says to complain to the powers-that-be to keep it open later. So write your congressman today! :)
