Results from my first day of thermography class. I can't begin to explain just how goddamn cool this camera is.

Here's a rundown of what you're seeing. Starting from top left, clockwise, then center:

1) Classmate Steve 2) Left sneaker off my foot for 1 minute, right sneaker off my foot for 10 seconds 3) My right hand. No, that's not blood vessel lines you see - that's the hair on my arm 4) Half adorned feet 5) Classmate David 6) The floor where I stood in my sock for a few moments 7) Palm, left hand. Oi, cold fingertips! 8) My footsies w/sneakers on. I'm not sure why my left foot is hotter than the right. Maybe some bloodflow/circulation issue that I'm not aware of. Well, maybe now I am aware of it. 9) Me!

    Hi madcurtis

CAN YOU SUGGEST A SUITABLE CAMERA MAKE FOR AUDITING HEAT LOSSES FROM RESIDENTIAL/INDUSTRIAL PREMISES PLEASE?

    Patrick.

@Madcurtis ... I've been taking pics of everything I can while in class (it's a 32-hour class from Snell Infrared), and now I have to go back to my plant manager and get him to throw down a requisition for one. After that, I'm going to have to do some major sucking up to 'borrow' it on weekends and include it in my photography works. Yeah, I'm pretty psyched. :-)

@Nenorufus ... I put some info in your group thread.

Heheh, I've got to figure out a way to get access to one of those. Ah well, I guess I'll just stick to near-IR for now.

    That's awesome.

Thats really cool. I got to use a high speed video camera (rented for graphics project) which was amazing. And the company forgot to pick up the camera for 5 days so i got a lot more use than i bargained for (meant to be 24hrs!!) There are 4 stills here: here

Really nice. It seems, though, that the numbering you use to describe the pictures are not top-left, in the direction of reading? I can figure out which picture you are describing but 4 of them are not where I would expect them to be :)

    1 2 3
    4 5 6
    7 8 9

    ?

    Ooops!

Read the manual. I now see you say "clockwise, then center", my bad.

Did you ever think of why your nose is so cold, while Steves nose is so hot? Maybe he touched his nose a lot, or sat with his hands on his face?

Or maybe he breathes through the nose more than you, possibly breathing through the mouth mainly?

Very interesting study, I am really envious and curious to get a camera like this

^ It was December, and very cold outside! The outer pics were from in the classroom; my selfie must've been from when we were taking exterior buidling pics.

So revealing! I wish I had thermal vision, that would be nice. Since it will most likely not be available within my life span I will probably have to do with a thermal camera ...
