Kettlethorpe, Lincolnshire

The seventeenth century oak pulpit was bought by Emily Cracroft-Amcotts in the 1920s from an antique shop in Brittany. When she bought it was covered in whitewash, but after being immersed in a French river for a week it came out looking like this. The panels are carved with scenes of Christ's passion.
