Shimmer Shatter Glamour
You can almost hear the shattering of glass and the tinkling of broken pieces of exploding ejecta as the image implodes and shatters itself. The world of feminine beauty, such a cruel and arbitrary role for women to pursue all their lives, compelling them to spend outrageous fortunes, is here called into question and ultimately "shattered".
The mannequins lend an uncanny "plasticity" as "representations" of women, which in turn, because of their "realness", like duck decoys, fool us into being "attracted" to them. Rene Magritte said it best with his painting of a pipe. Here we might say, "Ceci N'est Pas Une Femme".
