Wild Polar Bears in Churchill

Located along the shores of Hudson Bay, Churchill serves as a central gathering point for both Humans and Polar Bears alike.

These photos were taken during a three day polar bear/cold weather safari with Frontiers North. During the trip we spent our days watching the polar bears in their natural habitat from one of the company's signature Tundra Buggies. During the evenings we docked and relaxed at the mobile Tundra Buggy Lodge as the Polar Bears came up to the lodge to say hello, trying to figure out how to gain access to the raised vehicles.

I've wanted to see and spend time with wild polar bears for years. They are every bit as captivating up close and in the wild as I had dreamed. The entire trip felt like we had somehow been transported inside a National Geographic special or the taping of Planet Earth.

These are wonderful animals that need your help and protection.
