There, I'm looking my best!

    Newer Older

This fella (or perhaps it's a female) put on quite a show for me yesterday on the R.C.Y.C. Island ... I was sitting on the grass just a mere 5 ft away ... it didn't mind me there ... and it cooperated by preening and parading back and forth ... there didn't seem to be a mate about at the time ... nor any cygnets. I'll have to return to investigate. Apparently a nest close by has been spotted.

NO INVITES with BIG SPARKLY GRAPHICS. PLEASE, TRY TO RESPECT THIS.
I prefer simple honest comments, rather then a copy & paste of an award code.

It looks like a male but hard to tell without the mate. Awesome light & details! A masterpiece!!

It's hard getting good shots in direct sunlight, I think you've done a good job here to show the bright white feathers and still have detail in the shadows.

I'm not sure how you tell Mute Swans apart, perhaps by size. Tough to do when there's only one, but I suppose as long as they can, that's all that matters. But I digress. Sweet shot, Mary. You couldn't ask for a much more cooperative model.

Beautiful! You captured the light perfectly and your willing subject is 'dressed' to the feathers. :)
