You're kidding! A giant dinosaur bobblehead tangled in Christmas lights? That is so great! I would love to see him lit up...

eclectica miami - You really can't ask for much more can you?! Glad you enjoyed the photo:-)

All of these mannequins laying around the United State and I don't even have one of 'em. What kind of world do we live in?

This is like my favorite photo ever! This is unbelievable........I love how excessive the use of Christmas lights is

William - I know exactly what you're saying! They're one of those things that when you want one they cost a fortune but then you meet people who ended with with dozens of them for free. I guess it's the luck of the draw.

Jacob - I'm really glad you liked it. We were talking about how much you would enjoy the place while we were there:-)

Pam - With the holiday season coming on there's no need to redecorate:-)

that is wacked out cool........must be something to see at night too with that mess of string lights ;-)

Mark - I'm not sure if the Christmas lights still light up or not. I was a big fan of the giant clamp-on light on the dinosaur's head though!

Man, do I love that. That’s a good reason for a road trip all by itself.

Looks a little like Dino the dinosaur.

katzenfinch - So true! It's all those great places along the way that add up to the perfect road trip.

Mark - If a few are good, this many must be great:-)

Toby - Only slightly more realistic.

I love this place. I first noticed it when we were moving out to AZ from IL in summer 1995, hot as hell in August, following caravan style behind my husband (me driving in an un-airconditioned VW Beetle that my friends commonly called "The Oven Mobile")--

we'd been driving a couple of days, each alone in our cars, in the heat-- and when I saw these figures, strange mannequins posed along the roadside, covered with red dust, I really thought I was losing my mind.

EllenJo - It really does have that appearance doesn't it?! What a great story you have, I can only imagine how hot it must have been in that car. Do you still have it?

VR- unfortunately the Beetle died of exessive rust soon after we arrived in AZ. Damn Illinois winters. We do still have the Toyota 4runner and the camper shown in this photo (taken on that fateful trip west, in summer 1995-somewhere in Oklahoma by a helpful trucker)

I love the "mossy" look of all those lights.

William - The entire town must dim once they flip the switch on all these:-)
