Most realistic dinosaur ever!

    Newer Older

Loved the dinosaurs at Stewart's Petrified Wood outside of Holbrook, Arizona. Several are animated and the gentleman in the gift shop made sure we received our free postcard and a piece of petrified wood. Well worth the stop!

Man--I want to go where you've gone! We've been to a really lame dinosaur place in upstate NY--doesn't compare to this.

Pam - It's really odd when you see one so life-like isn't it? ;-)

finsbry - Hey thanks! Which one did you go to? We've been to Petrified Creatures in central New York before. We love that part of the state.

I am a connoisseur of fiberglass dinosaurs, and this my friend is the holy grail of fiberglass dinosaurs (Unless this is actually made of paper mache)

    6. Vintage Roadside 54 months ago | reply

Jacob - He wasn't fiberglass but I'm pretty sure he wasn't paper mache either. The other dinosaurs there were made of wire frames with some sort of high-tech (nylon:-) fabric covering them.

Whatever he's made out of he's way up there in my book too!

Wow. What Gigi said! I just love these "Roadside America" type places.

It's a strange thing I traveled through this area three times. In 1973, 1991 and this year 2009 and every time it was dark!!! I was tempted to sleep at the entrance to the Petrified Forest and drive through in the morning but since I was moving, with many valuables in my truck and a long way from my love, I pressed on.... Got to make here again.

keylargo_diver - It really is a great place to spend a day or so. Between the beautiful park and the assortment of roadside attractions there's pretty much something for everyone. Hope you get a chance to make it through in the daylight sometime.

Thanks for the comment and for taking a look. Glad you enjoyed the photo!

Hello there. My name is Jacqueline. I am from Louisiana. I am going to Vegas next week to get married. We are traveling by car through
Route 66/ I 140. Would it be possible to give me directions to this? I love dinosaurs and don't want to miss out on this one or the others on Route 66. Thanks for your time!
