I was thinking he looked a bit like General Zod from Superman II.

      reynolds_pervis - Thanks!

      Jasperdo - Probably not:-)

Gigi Elmes - He really is in great shape.

      Flickr-Nickk - He looks sharp doesn't he?

sputnick - He'd look pretty awesome right behind the Magic Shed! Or on the other side of the yard for your Marky Ramone neighbor to enjoy:-)

krstl_blu - Probably just sharp enough:-)

Jacob - From the wear on the axe it looks like he's not afraid to use it either!

These were known as Midas the Muffler Men in the Kansas City area back in the 60's. And I've seen a few in the Ozarks area w/ an axe in the hands! And now that you mention it...I can see a little of Billy Mays in there!

mragan - I think there are a couple still in the Lake of the Ozarks. Do you remember seeing more a few years back?

    18. mragan 57 months ago | reply

It was 20-30 yrs ago when I saw them in the Ozarks. I grew up w/ one not far from me in Overland Park when I was a kid, on Metcalf, in the 60s, at a Midas place. Long gone. Always liked them.

mragan - I wish I would have had a chance to see them when I was a kid - they would have seemed amazingly huge. I wonder whatever happened to the one in your area?
