Cacciucco, Livorno, Italy

    Newer Older

The most famous dish of Livorno is the Cacciucco, a popular stew of ancient origin cooked with the less-pretty-but-tastier rests of the catch. No less that 15 different kinds of fish mingle with tomato, bread, and garlic. This traditional soup conveys the memories of a Mediterranean crossroad and today, luxury restaurants also serve the popular Cacciucco.
