"Mladá fronta is the most influential daily newspaper in the Czech Republic. Its name could be translated into English as "The Youth Front Today". The paper is owned by Rheinisch-Bergische Druckerei- und Verlagsgesellschaft GmbH, the publisher of the Rheinische Post.
It was set up in 1945 under name Mladá fronta as a daily newspaper for youths. During the era of socialism, Mladá fronta was a newspaper of the Socialist Union of Youth. After the Velvet Revolution, its popularity grew and nowadays it is sometimes referred to as MF Dnes. Circulation as of 2004 is around 310,000 papers per day and as such it is one of the most popular and influential newspapers."
This was a totally coincidental opportunity to visit the buildings which had Mladá fronta left in 1989. These buildings are just 200 meters far from the very centre of the city (see the map), which is quite surreal.
