Another lasting memory of my trekking trip in Nepal last year. Climbing up here was really fun. Elevation was about 5400 meters above sea level. The ascent is quite steep and although the crossing is not technically difficult it is necessary to take it slowly to avoid complications from altitude. Naturally, it was a slog as the air here is so thin, about 50% oxygen and I had to take deep breaths after few steps. The snow on the surrounding peaks and on the summit floor acted like a solar mirror directing intense sunlight from all angles... strange feeling, a combination of freezing air with burning sun rays. The background is towards the east of the Himalayan range and extends all the way to Sikkim, India.
