The Scary Doll

Last Saturday the family went fo a few garage sales. Esther found this old doll. She was reluctant to pay the three dollars, but really wanted it as a prop in one of their movies. The lady selling it just gave it to her and already Scary Dolly has starred in the kids' latest film.

I am so impressed with what the kids can do with their limited resources. Please give it a watch, you won't be disappointed, I promise.

Love this.. i'm now going to play guess the lens with each of your posts.. so far so good!! was the flare on the orginal shot (i guess from 'sunflare') ..if so (1) it works a treat (2) do the lensbaby's flare easy? like this it can be creative! :)
  • Matt Osborne 3y

..excellent focus btw ..and lastly can you get the plane of focus to go from say the centre off the edge of the image (to one side only).. as appears to have happened here? ..if so winner! :)
  • Victoria Bell 3y

Matt Osborne Yes, the flare is genuine sunflare, and yes, lb can flare quite easily as one can tilt the lens. This makes it easy to achieve flare, control flare and avoid flare.

And yes, one can place the blur or focus anywhere. My placement tends to be hit and miss at times, especially with moving subjects, as I have really bad vision. I MUST use live view zoomed in to get focus. This often prevents me from seeing the "big picture" The 80 is harder for me to see than the other optics. If I'm taking a static shot, I can take my time to get exactly the right focus. However, I do admire the more casual, carefree style many lensbaby shooters have...meaning, the focus isn't always accurate. This gives a spontaneous quality to an image. I've been intending to do some lb shooting using only the viewfinder and see what happens.

Thanks for looking, and commenting, Matt
