With the snow brightness and low winter sun (Canada) it's really the best time to catch ducks in flight.
Normally shot using ISO 800, I would slip down to ISO 400 on the brighter days. and still be able to shoot in the 1600 - 2000 speed range. A middle low Aperture of f/8 - f/11 usually keeps the focal plane wide enough for the duck to remain in focus from wing tip to wing tip.
