Some days I love the washing up!
Since i grew out of being a teenager (at the age of 22!) I started seeing the chore of washing up as a way to express love for my family. I turned it from a chore to a gift. Then as the years passed I forgot about this and moved on.
I find myself returning to this philosophy. It's the simplicity of learning to be in the present moment and being alive to what I am doing. So now when the hot water runs I squeeze the bubble bottle and relish the warm water on my hands, then I try to give each piece my attention, and I think of how this one mundane routine is once again a gesture of love for my family.
