Downtown Russellville, Logan County, Kentucky

A view looking northeast across downtown Russellville, Kentucky this past Sunday (10-30-2011). The US68 bypass is visible in the distance and Morgantown Rd. (KY79, not to be confused with the eastern end of US79 which terminates in Russellville) winds its way beyond the bypass. The hill in the upper center has several large "caves" used for storage (the rock face is barely visible here and I need to look these up for more in-depth info). RJ Corman's "Memphis Line" is also evident as is their wye at the lower left: The leg leading to the left edge goes to the Logan Aluminum plant along their Lewisburg Branch; the leg beneath the US68-Business bridge continues to Guthrie, KY. The railroad's line leaves the northeastern side of town past the quarry to ultimately arrive at its CSX railroad connection in Bowling Green.
