      Wonderful photo! I can almost smell that clove scent. This is a really interesting stage in its growth. Witch hazel is a shrub that is interesting in all seasons. I wish I could grow it here. Wishing you a happy New Year!

      so early! In my part of the world, we have to wait till, say, mid-februari to see the first hamamelis in bloom. Usually the yellow species, but 'jelena' as a copper runner-up.
      'jelena' is named after Jelena de Belder, the belgian woman who was a great breeder/collector for the Kalmthout-arboretum.
