Halemaʻumaʻu Crater, viewed from near the Jagger Museum, pluming out gases from the lava lake hidden below the surface, surrounded by warming (and harmless) steam vents.

 

This is as close as you can get due to the prevalence of sulfur dioxide near the crater.
