oh velvia, beautifully saturated (maybe a little too much punch in Lightroom, but who cares) , nice shot.

      Excellent colours!

those colors are all due to the intense saturation that Velvia slide film has. The only Lightroom/Photoshop adjustments done were to decrease contrast somewhat by adding some fill light and adding a bit of digital graduated neutral density filter on top of the real ND filter that I had used out there.

excellent work the velvia really boosts those greens, and the image has real BANG!

      that's quite some color! Wonderful!

Oh I know: I shoot velvia too. But some times it's over the top; whether chemically or digitally produced. It works nicely for this shot though I like the eyepopping colour. Sometimes I have to tone down the velvia 'look' though.

BTW what do you use to scan your slides? Do you shoot 135 or larger? I'm thinking of getting a dedicated scanner instead of renting. Also do you ever have problems with focus on poorly mounted slides? Thanks

      Your work is excellent

i shoot 35mm; i'd like to go bigger, but i'm carrying so much photo gear already... I scan using a KonicaMinolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 II, which I'm fairly happy with. Focus is an issue however sometimes, but the DOF on this scanner seems to be OK for most of my slides.

      thanks for liking my work!
