Derwentwater @ christmas II
A view across the lake. You can see the thin layer of frost on the water. The air was incredibly crisp; I remember my lungs were aching with it. Just after I took this picture we tried to walk back into Keswick and ended up sliding around all over the icy path - we were laughing so much and making such a pig's ear of it that one of the 'serious' walkers, with his climbing boots and walking stick, gave us a filthy look and tutted at us as he walked past. Five seconds later he'd slipped on the ice and was on his arse on the path. Well, you can imagine our reaction! Poor fella - but he made the day memorable!
