Today was our first true family day. Robin has been home for a week now, and Feline and Tijn didn't go anywhere.
The weather was okay, so we got up at a reasonable time, did the morning processing and jumped on the tram to the zoo. Normally we bike, but that is a no-no for the coming months, until Robin is somewhat older and heavier. Tijn has been nagging about going to the zoo for the past several days. "Zoo" in Dutch is actually quite a long word (dierentuin=animal garden), so it was good practice for him ;)
Things went really well, no stress, also helped by Regular Robin. That has to be her nickname, because you can literally set your watch to her feeding schedule. Most of the readers of this stream know that handling kids outside their own environment (i.e. home), is about practice and preparation. Preparation not only in terms of bringing your gear and goodies, but also mentally, for the unexpected. With Robin, that last bit is simply not necessary (yet, knock on wood!).
The picture was taking by Patty and shows me spoon-feeding Tijn and Feline some kiwi fruits, under close scrutiny of several flamingos.
And yes, I live in that vest and will never part with it.
