The Lebaudy-Julliot 'Le Jaune' inside the Halle des machines [France, 1903]

Another view of the Lebaudy Le Jaune ('The Yellow') dirigible in the enormous Halles des Machines in Paris. 20 November 1903 in preparation for a flight over Paris. The flight got enormous publicity and a series of 30 (!) photographs / postcards were published to commemorate the event.

The Lebaudy brothers were wealthy - or might I say enormously wealthy - sugar producers and they could probably easily effort this indulge in flying.

Also a nice view of the steel roof construction, which for its time (1878) was probably the pinnancle of technology.

NB.: This picture was also in the ND Phot series but this is a contemporary (maybe illegal version) printed by the firm L.F. et V in Paris. Hence the original numbering of the ND Phot series is not on this card
