Tampere in the 1950s
Photographs from Tampere, Finland depicting a lively city and its rapid industrialisation in the post WW2 era.

The black and white photographs have been taken in the 1950s in the different factories and industrial sites of the city.
The colour photographs are taken during the recent years by the researchers of Pirkanmaa provincial museum taking inventory on the built heritage.

The everyday objects are from the collections of Tampere historical museums. Some of the machines and tools can be seen in their original context.
