Clonmel Fire Rescue

Two people were rescuedfrfom this building, in a night that was very busy for the Emergency services in South Tipperary.

The first incident was around 10.45 last night when a car was set alight in the Wilderness housing estate.


Fire crews were then called to a fire at a three-storey building on Sarsfield

Street in the town centre, believed to have been petrol bombed.


Firemen needed a 46-foot ladder to rescue one man from the top floor.


Two people were taken to South Tipp General Hospital for treatment.


Around the same time a house was set on fire in the Carrigeen housing estate, which spread to the two neighbouring house, gutting all three.


It’s not thought anyone was seriously injured.
