The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior

So I dusted off my 50mm lens on the weekend, as I don't have a macro lens anymore and just felt like bokeh-ing it up.. only to find that my 50mm lens is also broken. It seems like the aperture is stuck or something, as turning the dial on my camera doesn't change anything on the lens. I was testing it to make sure it was definitely broken, and ended up taking this photo of my cat - a rare opportunity of stillness when he didn't know I was around, and wasn't posing / showing off.

Everything is technically wrong with this photo because I couldn't properly expose it with a broken lens, but I just love the lighting and the look on his face.

Anna Jane, broken lens or not, this image is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful cat photos I have ever seen. Love the warmth, the glow, and the softness.

Such lovely such focus in this. Love the beautiful colours. The bokeh is amazing in this. I love how the light glows on the kitties face. Amazing how sometime an unfortunate moment (i.e. broken lens) can create a something so wonderful.

Thankyou for the lovely comments on this one :)

Jen - yeah I dropped my macro lens, but I'm not sure what happened with the 50mm one. It's been rattling for a while, but I haven't used it in so long because I would just use my macro instead. It took over a month to find out that our camera repair place don't have the facilities to fix the macro, so it's been sent away and maybe it will be fixed, or it might be a write off. I'm sick of waiting so I am going to buy a new one in a week or so.
