The Monticello Dam…built between 1953-57 to hold back the ‘ragging’ waters of Putah Creek and form Lake Berryessa to provide water for Solano County…in the processes, the rising waters flooded the town of Monticello…

This shot falls way short of showing the lakes true size holding 1,602,000 acre feet of water…covering 20,000 acres when full...

It’s where in the 70’s, I learned how to water ski…in the nude…you learn really quick not to fall down that way…
