120523-N-QQ884-039 YOKOSUKA, Japan (May 23, 2012) - Sailors from the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington's (CVN 73) Medical Training team (MTT) provide training to repair locker stretcher bearers on the proper way to transport a simulated chest wound victim as part of a medical drill during general quarters. The drill was held to help Sailors familiarize themselves with medical procedures in case of an actual emergency. George Washington was commissioned on July 4, 1992 and is the 5th of the Nimitz-class aircraft carriers. Aircraft carriers exercise the Navy core capabilities of power projection, forward presence, humanitarian assistance, deterrence, sea control and maritime security.
