CMS catches a b-u-s in a cascade of particles
CMS discovered a new particle! The Xi_b^*0, a hadron made up of a b-quark, an up quark, and a strange quark, has a mass of just less than 6 GeV. When it decays, it leads to a chain of particles including pions, J/Psi mesons, lamda particles, and more. Note the "displaced vertices" where decay products have traveled some distance before decaying themselves.
