A gorgeous photo of the Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon, Utah.

If there's one aspect of the Earth that the USGS knows's our water resources. Of course, USGS is a leader in providing data and information for many aspects of earth science, but we also know that water is key to our quality life. Clean, plentiful, healthy, and affordable water for future generations starts with understanding the availability of our water. A changing climate affects the quality and quantity of water, and understanding that effect leads to a more secure water future. Understanding floods and their characteristics is a matter of public safety. Even knowing the interdependent relationship between water and energy can lead to a securer energy future. For all these things, the USGS provides vital research and data to help people and decision-makers better understand the planet we inhabit and rely upon daily.
