One of two new loggerhead nests found early morning at Camp Lejeune on August 8, 2013
Camp Lejeune staff showed us a nest they discovered that morning at Onslow Beach and logged into the Base records. The nest was marked and a cage was placed over the nest to protect the eggs from natural predators. Early beach patrols ensure that new nests are discovered before vehicles start driving on the beaches.
