Nutria an invasive species

You may think these critters are cute and harmless, but the damage they do to habitat takes years to repair. This animal was brought to the U.S. from South America in order to capitalize on the sale of their fur. Now nutria have taken over a number of rivers and lakes, causing lots of trouble. US Fish and Wildlife Service biologists want to keep track of nutria and work with partners to study their behavior and population size.
