Expansion of Japanese Knotweed

Japanese knotweed is a large, aggressive non-native perennial that grows quickly and densely along riverbanks.

The leaves alternate along the stem and are smooth and bright green. They tend to be broad and have a distinct flat base with a pointed leaf tip.
