Did you know the Northeast is home to North America's smallest turtle, the threatened bog turtle? Susi von Oettingen, endangered species biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, interviewed on Fox Connecticut Wednesday (Jan. 15, 2014), highlighting the recent 40th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act and a handful of threatened and endangered species that occur in Connecticut, including the threatened bog turtle, piping plover, and Puritan tiger beetle, as well as recovered species like the bald eagle and peregrine falcon.
